WOMEN IN TRADES: ELECTRICAL

WOMEN IN TRADES: ELECTRICAL

by Skills Ready Team / Thursday, 22 February 2018 / Published in NEWS

Jenna Mitchell, 3rd year electrical apprentice, says “This career path has already changed my life”. The trades have allowed her to push herself to see what she can accomplish. During the past 4 years working in electrical, Jenna has learned a lot about herself, stating “It’s been such a positive experience. I’ve grown and learned so much”. Jenna is proud to contribute to projects and loves knowing that her work will benefit other people. Jenna has gained a skill set she can take anywhere she decides to take her career “I’m going to be able to take this skill set that I’ve learned and carry on and continue to make things happen for people”. For Jenna, working in the trades has allowed her to pursue a career which has benefits far greater than a paycheck.

“Being able to have that pride, that ‘I can do it’, and to be able to show someone afterwards ‘look what I can do’ or ‘look what I did.”
