Earlier this year we had the opportunity to spend some time with the Explore-A-Trade students at Salmon Arm Secondary.
This class was present at the official kick-off of the Construction Ready pilot earlier this year and when we first met them, they were making 4’ x 8’ sheds. They did such a good job of constructing the sheds, that they ended up selling and delivering them to community members. They sold out!
The class recently invited us back to view their final projects of the year. The scope of their final project included developing blueprints, a budget and then the actual construction of the item.
We invited a few construction industry professionals from the area to join us and see what these young people had made in their design showcase. We were all so impressed by the work that the students put in. These young people are well on their way to becoming FutureBuilders!
