Bursaries and Scholarships

Through our parent organization, the Construction Foundation of BC, we provide a number of scholarships and bursaries to individuals looking to further their education in the skilled trades and technologies.

THE SHIFT DRIVER TRAINING FUND

Through the SHIFT initiative, the Construction Foundation of BC is pleased to offer Driver’s Licence training for youth in care or youth who have transitioned from care.

The approximate value of each grant for driver training is $1500 and will be paid directly to the training provider. Please note that funds are limited and the grant will only remain open as long as funds are available.

MOTT ELECTRIC GP WOMEN IN ELECTRICAL TRAINING FUND

The Mott Electric GP Women in Trades Training Fund is designed to support women entering into or continuing education in the electrical trades. Bursaries may be used for tuition fees or textbooks.

Established by William Mott in 1930, Mott Electric GP is one of the oldest and largest electrical contracting companies in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
Mott Electric GP is actively involved in local communities and provides support to local schools, teams and charitable organizations. This bursary is just one of the many ways that Mott Electric GP contributes to the community and industry.

Mott Electric GP’s intention when establishing this fund, was to ensure that women are recognized as valued members of the industry. Mott Electric GP is focused on actively planning for the next generation and ensuring women have a place in industry is key to a successful community.

The recipient will receive up to $1500 to be applied to tuition fees and textbooks.

VICA SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) is a non-profit association dedicated to the promotion of construction investment. This scholarship fund was developed as part of their continued commitment to workforce development.

There are currently 8 awards provided through the fund.
